Preparing For Your Child’s First Dental Appointment

Before making your child’s next dentist appointment, its important they understand why it is important to take good care of their teeth. Talk with them about proper brushing, making it a family event together so it helps to encourage them to brush regularly. Children need to see a dentist every six months so the dentist can check on your child’s oral development. This is an effective method for preparing your child for their upcoming appointment.

There are many different books available for younger kids about the subject of going to the dentist, reading them to your child so they get more comfortable with the idea.

On the day of the dental appointment, let your child bring along a book, or toy from home. Familiar things they can bring from home will help them feel comforted while they wait to see the dentist.

With a little bit of planning, some positive reinforcement, and a good choice for your child’s dentist, you can help eliminate their fears and replace them with feelings of fun.

I have been going to hello dental for a few years now and I must say you get what you pay for, the service is exemplary and all the staff are so polite and friendly. I never really liked going to the dentist because of previous experiences but I trust them 100% and would highly recommend them. Also the clinic is so clean which is something I always look for! So if you are looking for a dentist this is definitely the place to go.
