Most people can live with having some anxiety about visiting the dentist- according to the National Smile Month charity, one in every seven adults who had ever been to a dentist suffers from extreme dental anxiety.

For those with dental phobia, however, the thought of a dental visit is terrifying. They may be so frightened, that they’ll do just about anything to avoid a trip to the dentist. A phobia is an “an irrational severe fear that leads to avoidance of the feared situation, object or activity”

At Hello dental Colchester our practice has been designed around the needs of those who tell us they do not like the dentist.

Our practice has a particular expertise in treating patients with various dental anxieties ranging from general fear of dentistry due to previous bad experiences, through to specific phobias such as needle phobias and strong gag reflexes.

We do this using an approach which firstly listens to your needs and concerns. Depending in the extent of your concerns we develop a plan to help you overcome the fear.

This is by far the BEST dentist I have EVER been to! Helen is amazing, knowing I’m not a big fan of the dentist she is so gentle and explains everything before she does it. I have been going to hello dental for a few years now and I must say you get what you pay for, the service is exemplary and all the staff are so polite and friendly. I never really liked going to the dentist because of previous experiences but I trust them 100% and would highly recommend them. Also the clinic is so clean which is something I always look for! So if you are looking for a dentist this is definitely the place to go.

If you're looking for a kind, calm and supportive dentist Hello Dentist are brilliant. After having a very poor experience with my last dentist I was very reticent at attending the dentist again but Hello Dental understood were non critical and have helped me to regain confidence in the dentist profession.
